Günther Oberhollenzer
Günther Oberhollenzer (born May 17, 1976 in Brixen ) is an Italian art historian , author and curator .
Career
Oberhollenzer studied history and art history at the Leopold-Franzens University in Innsbruck and at the Università Ca'Foscari in Venice . He then completed a master's degree in cultural management at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna . He co-organized several art exhibitions in South Tyrol and worked in the visual arts department of the City of Vienna's cultural department. From 2006 to 2015 Oberhollenzer was the curator of the Essl Collection in Klosterneuburg . In 2008, Oberhollenzer was awarded a prize by the Foundation for Young South Tyroleans Abroad . In 2014 Oberhollenzer was appointed to the South Tyrolean Cultural Advisory Board, in 2018 to the jury of the STRABAG Art Award , and in 2019 to the jury of the Otto Mauer Prize. In addition to his work as a curator, he is a lecturer at the Institute for Cultural Management and Gender Studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts. Since the beginning of 2016 he has been the curator for the art museum in Krems, the Landesgalerie Niederösterreich , which opened in 2019 .
