Gottlieb Ulrich Osiander

Gottlieb Ulrich Osiander (born March 15, 1786 in Stuttgart , † December 6, 1827 in Knittlingen ) was a German Lutheran theologian.

Life

The son of the monastery preacher Johann Eberhard Osiander attended the grammar school in his hometown, completed the seminar in Blaubeuren in 1799 and then briefly attended the monastery school in Bebenhausen . He then took up studies at the University of Tübingen , where he studied natural philosophy with Jakob Friedrich Abel and Andreas Heinrich Schott .

But soon he dealt with the philosophical influences on theology. For this purpose, he had attended the lectures of Johann Friedrich Gaab , Friedrich Gottlieb Süskind , Johann Friedrich Flatt and Ernst Gottlieb Bengel . When he had completed his studies in 1808, he became a private tutor in Krefeld , 1811 repetent in Tübingen , 1812 deacon in Bahlingen , 1823 dean in Knittlingen and worked for the Vaterländische Zeitschrift .

Osiander was married to Wilhelmine Heyd, with whom he had five children.
