Gouvy ( German Geilich ) is a Belgian municipality in the arrondissement of Bastogne in the province of Luxembourg .

Administrative division

The municipality of Gouvy was formed on January 1st, 1977 as part of the Belgian municipal reform from the following 5 previously independent municipalities (now districts of the municipality of Gouvy):

The village of Gouvy, after which the municipality was named, belongs to the Limerlé district. The district of Beho with the villages Deiffelt, Ourthe (Urt) and Wathermael (Watermal) traditionally belongs to the German-speaking area. From 1940 until the liberation in 1944 it was annexed by Germany.
