Grürmannsheide is a district of Iserlohn in the Sauerland . The village-like village is located on the northern edge of Oestrich and had 1153 inhabitants together with Stübbeken at the end of 2019 . Geologically, the area belongs to the Lower Sauerland heaths and is dominated by claystone in the soil.

The connection to the supraregional road network is via Rotehausstrasse and Schälkstrasse to the B 236 and on to the A 46 . The A 45 can be reached via the B 236 in the other direction (Schwerte- Ergste ) .

history

Grürmannsheide is one of the oldest places where human traces were found in Iserlohn. Various tools have been found from the late Paleolithic and Mesolithic (35,000–10,000 years ago).

The village belonged to Oestrich for a long time before it joined the city of Letmathe . On January 1st, 1975 Grürmannsheide came to the new town of Iserlohn with Letmathe.
