Dröschede is a district of the city of Iserlohn in the Märkisches Kreis in the Sauerland . At the end of 2019, Dröschede had 4060 inhabitants.

history

The village Dröschede was mentioned for the first time in 1335 as Druyssche und Drusche . Of the Schultenhof an der Rauen Haardt, which was first mentioned in 1409 as the Hof zu Dröschede, only one building remains today. The place name changed many times in the following years. Via Dreschervert (1484), Droeuschede (1607) and Dreischede (1791), among others , Dröschede emerged from 1800 . The origin of the name is explained with dröge schede (dry sheath), as the Dröschederhardt forms the watershed between the Ruhr and Lenne .

Dröschede belonged to the town of Letmathe in what was then the Iserlohn district , which was incorporated into Iserlohn on January 1, 1975 .

Advent Church (2010)

The Evangelical Advent Church , built in 1960, was located in Dröschede and was demolished in 2015 as part of austerity measures. Protestant services are now taking place in neighboring Oestrich . The Catholics in Dröschede belong to the Catholic parish Herz-Jesu Grüne .

The gymnastics club for Dröschede was founded on July 9th, 1906 and joined the Märkischen Turngau. On April 27, 1927, the gymnasium Im Hütten was completed, which TuS 06 shared with TV Eiche Grüne . This gym is still in use today next to the newer gym on the Emst. The association currently offers the following sports groups:

FC Borussia Dröschede was founded in 1911. However, the game operation was not carried out continuously, but was sometimes dormant. a. due to the war and for lack of players. In 1936 FC Borussia and the Turnverein Dröschede merged and played under the name TuS 06 Dröschede.
The club has been operating continuously since 1963, again under the original name Borussia Dröschede. After several ascents and descents in the years up to 1989, the decisive sporting upswing began with the new chairman Karl-Heinz Lemmer. About the district league A and the district league rose the first team to coach Andreas Friedberg in 1994 in the state league. After relegation from the Westphalia League in the 2010/11 season, the first team of FC Borussia played for one year in the Landesliga Season 2.
In the 2011/2012 season, coach Alen Terzic managed to return directly to the Football Westphalia League . FC Borussia Dröschede currently plays in the Westphalia regional soccer league . In addition to the national league team, Borussia Dröschede has two other senior teams, 15 junior teams and one women's team.
