Grabow is part of the municipality of Haseloff-Grabow , a district of the official municipality Mühlenfließ in the district of Potsdam-Mittelmark in Brandenburg . Grabow belongs to the Niemegk office .

location

Grabow is located in the north of the High Fläming in the nature park of the same name, about seven kilometers northeast of Niemegk . Surrounding villages are the city of Brück in the north, Linthe and Jeserig in the northeast, Niederwerbig in the east, Haseloff in the south, the city of Niemegk in the southwest and the districts of Mörz in the west and Locktow in the northwest, which belong to the municipality of Planetal .

The federal highway 102 from Bad Belzig to Jüterbog runs almost 2.5 kilometers south of Grabow. Grabow was first mentioned in a document in 1275 under the name Grabowe . The place name comes from the Old Slavic word grabov and means place where hornbeams grow . At the time, Grabow belonged to the desolate district of Katerborn, which has now disappeared. Grabow burned down completely during the Thirty Years War .

After the reunification , Haseloff-Grabow was in the Belzig district in Brandenburg and joined the Niemegk office on February 11, 1992 . After the district reform in Brandenburg on December 6, 1993 , the community finally came to the newly formed district of Potsdam-Mittelmark . On July 1, 2002, Haseloff-Grabow was merged together with the previously independent municipalities of Nichel , Niederwerbig and Schlalach to form the new municipality of Mühlenfließ .
