Nichel is a district of the municipality Mühlenfließ in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district in Brandenburg . The place belongs to the office of Niemegk .

Nichel is located in the north of the High Fläming in the nature park of the same name about ten kilometers southeast of Brück and about five kilometers northwest of Treuenbrietzen . Surrounding villages Schlalach in the north, the city Treuenbrietzen in the east and southeast, the district Rietz belonging to Treuenbrietzen in the south, Haseloff in the southwest, Niederwerbig in the west and its municipality Jeserig in the northwest.
The state road 85 runs through Nichel. The federal road 102 from Bad Belzig to Jüterbog runs through the southern part of the locality. The closest motorway junction, Brück, on federal motorway 9, is about seven kilometers away. The brickworks residential area belongs to Nichel .
history
Nichel was first mentioned in 1303 as cum aqua Nichele . The place name is of Slavic origin from the Schlalacher Mühlengraben flowing through the village . Originally the place consisted of the parts Ober-Nichel and Unter-Nichel, whereby Ober-Nichel was already desolate in 1375 .
The Nicheler village church was built in 1868 as a stone church on the foundation walls of the old church building.
Nichel has always been in the Kingdom of Prussia and there in the administrative district of Potsdam . On July 25, 1952, the community was assigned to the then newly formed Belzig district in the Potsdam district . After the fall of the Wall , Nichel was in the Belzig district in Brandenburg and joined the Niemegk office on February 11, 1992 . After the district reform in Brandenburg on December 6, 1993 , the community finally came to the newly formed district of Potsdam-Mittelmark . On July 1, 2002, Nichel was merged with the previously independent municipalities Haseloff-Grabow , Niederwerbig and Schlalach to form the new municipality of Mühlenfließ .
