Niederwerbig is a district of the official municipality Mühlenfließ in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district in Brandenburg . The place belongs to the office of Niemegk .

location

Niederwerbig is located in the north of the High Fläming in the nature park of the same name, about seven kilometers southeast of Brück and about nine kilometers northwest of Treuenbrietzen . Surrounding villages are part of the community Jeserig in the north, Nichel in the East, which belongs to the city district Treuenbrietzen Rietz in the south, Haseloff in the southwest, Grabow in the West as well as to the community Planetal belonging Gemeindeteil Ziezow in the northwest.

The district road 6919 runs through Niederwerbig. In addition, the state road 95 runs through the district. The federal highway 102 from Bad Belzig to Jüterbog runs about four kilometers south of the village. The Niemegk motorway junction on federal motorway 9 is about seven kilometers away and the Brück junction about five kilometers away.

history

Niederwerbig was first mentioned in 1337 as villa Werbek sita prope Bryzzen . The origin of the place name is not clear, it is probably of Slavic origin . In 1383 Niederwerbig was mentioned as Werbig bye der Breisin .

The village church of Niederwerbig was built in the first half of the 13th century. Around 1900 changes were made to the church tower . The Bad Belzig – Treuenbrietzen railway ran through Niederwerbig , where the village with Haseloff-Niederwerbig had a stop . The line was closed in 1962.

The crime scene Sleeping Beauty Revenge was filmed in Niederwerbig in 2007, with the village being referred to as Wiedlitz in the film . The place should reflect the authentic dreariness as well as the charm of the old GDR .

Niederwerbig has always been in the Kingdom of Prussia and there in the administrative district of Potsdam . On July 25, 1952, the community was assigned to the then newly formed Belzig district in the Potsdam district . On January 1, 1962, the neighboring town of Jeserig was incorporated. After the reunification , Niederwerbig was in the Belzig district in Brandenburg and joined the Niemegk office on February 11, 1992 . After the district reform in Brandenburg on December 6, 1993 , the community finally came to the newly formed district of Potsdam-Mittelmark . On July 1, 2002, Niederwerbig was merged together with the previously independent communities Haseloff-Grabow , Nichel and Schlalach to form the new community Mühlenfließ .
