The Grennelbach is a five-and-thirds kilometer long right and northeast tributary of the Kinzig in the Hessian Main-Kinzig district
geography
course
The Grennelbach rises at an altitude of about 713 m above sea level. NHN south-east of the Schlüchtern district of Gundhelm .
It finally flows west of Schlüchterner district Vollmerz at an altitude of about 250 m above sea level. NHN from the right and northeast into the Kinzig .
Its approximately 5.7 km long run ends about 296 meters below its source, so it has a mean bed gradient of about 52 ‰.
Catchment area
The 8.16 km² catchment area of the Grennelbach lies in the Kuppenrhön and is drained to the North Sea via the Kinzig, Main and Rhine rivers.
It borders
- in the east to that of the Hammersbach , a tributary of the Schmale Sinn
- in the southeast of the Schmaler Sinn itself, which drains into the Main via the Sinn and the Franconian Saale
- in the south to that of the Ramholzer water , a tributary of the Kinzig
- and in the north to that of the Schwarzbach , a tributary of the Elmbach , which also flows into the Kinzug.
The highest point is 550 m above sea level. NHN high latitude ridge in the southeast.
The catchment area is predominantly forested on the upper reaches in the east and on the northern edge, otherwise grassland and arable land alternate.
