history

middle Ages

The oldest surviving written mention of Vollmerz comes from the year 1226. A moated castle was on the western edge of the town, but no remains of it are visible. In 1303 Friedrich von Hutten carried a property in Vollmerz from the Bishop of Würzburg as a fief. The place belonged to the Altengronau court , which came to the Hanau rulership in 1333 as an imperial loan from an inheritance from the Rieneck family. The Schwarzenfels Office of the County of Hanau emerged from the court in the 15th century ; from 1459: County of Hanau-Münzenberg . In 1375 the Lord von Hanau gave the Hutten family the “New Building” as a fief. The goods of those von Herolz, however, were a fief of the Fulda monastery in 1392 . The Bishop of Würzburg had a tithe in Vollmerz in 1355.

Modern times

The County of Hanau-Münzenberg initially joined the Lutheran denomination during the Reformation , and was reformed from 1597 . The parish belonged to the parish of Sterbfritz .

In 1643 the Schwarzenfels office - and with it Vollmerz - was handed over to the Landgraviate of Hessen-Kassel as a pledge for the repayment of debts, along with other securities , and was intended to guarantee Hanau's debts in connection with the liberation of the city of Hanau from the siege by imperial troops 1636 across from Hessen-Kassel. The Counts of Hanau were no longer able to redeem this pledge from Hessen-Kassel. The local minor nobility, the lords of Degenfeld-Schonburg , was finally able to assert its imperial immediacy here in 1698 .

During the Napoleonic period, Vollmerz was under French military administration as part of the Ramholz Justice Office from 1806, belonged to the Principality of Hanau from 1807 to 1810 and then from 1810 to 1813 to the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt , Department of Hanau . It then fell to the Electorate of Hesse. After the administrative reform of the Electorate of Hesse in 1821, in which the Electorate of Hesse was divided into four provinces and 22 districts, Vollmerz belonged to the district of Schlüchtern . In 1866 the electorate was annexed by Prussia after the Austro-Prussian War . With the Hessian territorial reform , the community came to the city of Schlüchtern on December 1, 1969 and through the dissolution of the district Schlüchtern to the Main-Kinzig district .

Vollmerz owned a village mill on the so-called Ramholzer Kinzig , also called Zimpertsmühle , which was in the local area.
