Career

society

Grigoris Makos began his career at Ilioupoli FC in 2000 at the age of thirteen . In 2003 he moved to Panionios Athens in the first team and made his league debut on May 23, 2004 against Proodeftiki FC . The defensive midfielder scored his first league goal on October 1, 2005 against APO Levadiakos . In the following years Makos was one of the most important players at Panionios despite his young age and by the age of 21 had already played over 100 league games. At the age of 19 he was already given the captain's armband. Because of his outstanding performance, the three big Greek clubs Olympiacos Piraeus , AEK Athens , Panathinaikos Athens and clubs from abroad showed interest in Makos. Ultimately, he moved to AEK Athens.

On June 24th, 2009 he signed a five-year contract with AEK. Shortly after signing, he said the reason he moved here was because coach Dušan Bajević . On July 6th, he decided on jersey number 14, which he had been wearing since his youth. On August 20 he made his debut in the 2009/10 UEFA Europa League against FC Vaslui from Romania , and made his league debut ten days later in a 1-0 away win at Atromitos Athens . In his first season Makos completed 28 appearances, including 21 in the league, one in the cup and six in the Europa League . In the 2010/11 season he was mostly a regular player and impressed with performances in the UEFA Europa League playoffs against Dundee United as well as in the preparatory games. So far, he has played 26 league games and eight Europa League games.

In early July 2012 Makos was signed by the German second division club TSV 1860 Munich . He signed a two-year contract until the end of June 2014. In the sixties , he came to eleven missions in the 2012/13 season after he had torn the syndesmosis ligament in his left ankle at the beginning of the season and was therefore out for several months. In the second half of the season he also played four times for the second team in the Regionalliga Bayern at his own request .

After one season, the defensive midfielder leaves TSV 1860 Munich and joins the Cypriot runner-up Anorthosis Famagusta . Both clubs have agreed not to disclose the terms of the transfer. Since 2015 he has been playing in Greece again , mostly for lower-class clubs.

National team

After Makos played for the Greek U-21 national team, he made his debut on February 5, 2008 in the Greek national soccer team in a friendly against the Czech Republic . On May 19, he made his second international appearance against Cyprus . On November 9, he was nominated for the World Cup qualifier against Ukraine , but not used. On February 28, 2010, he was used in a preparatory game for the 2010 World Cup against Senegal in the second half and thus came to his first international match for over a year. Makos was nominated by national coach Otto Rehhagel for the expanded 30-man squad, but did not make it into the World Cup squad.
