The Große Schweimke in the Harz Mountains is an approximately 3.2 km long, eastern and orographically left-hand tributary of the Kleine Steinau north of Herzberg am Harz in the district of Göttingen in Lower Saxony .

The Große Schweimke rises in the Upper Harz in the Harz Nature Park . Its source is about 1 km south of the Schindelkopf , a south-westerly foothill of the Auf dem Acker mountain ridge , about 600 m north of the Weinbergstrasse at about 602  m above sea level. NN . It flows first in a south-westerly and later in a westerly direction, after confluence with the Kleine Schweimke about 850 m north of the forester's house Rehhagen at around 285  m above sea level. NN to flow into the Kleine Steinau .
