Grodziec Mały ( German Klein Gräditz , 1937-45 Niederfeld ) is a village in the Polish Lower Silesian Voivodeship , which belongs to the rural community Głogów (Glogau) in the powiat Głogowski (district Glogau) .
Geographical location
The place is located about three kilometers north of the city of Głogów (Glogau) . Surrounding towns are Sobczyce (Tschopitz) in the north, Krzekotówek (Klein Vorwerk) in the northeast, Serby (Zerbau) in the east, the city of Głogów (Glogau) in the south and Zabiele (Sabel) in the northwest.
By Grodziec Mały running Droga wojewódzka 319 of Głogów (Glogau) by Sława (Schlawa) and Droga wojewódzka 321 from Głogów to Nowa Sól (Neusalz an der Oder) . The Oder flows south of the village . The Grodziec Mały station was at the junction of the Grodziec Mały – Kolsko railway from the Łódź – Forst (Lausitz) railway .
history
Grodziec Mały was first mentioned in 1302 as Groti-scz . In 1318 the place name Grodis was written. The place name means little castle .
During the Wars of Liberation , Grodziec Mały was almost completely destroyed in 1813 and was rebuilt just 1.5 kilometers north of the former local area after the Congress of Vienna . In 1893 Grodziec Mały got its own cemetery and in 1902 an evangelical chapel .
After the First Silesian War , Grodziec Mały came to the Kingdom of Prussia in 1742 . There the place was from 1816 to 1945 in the district of Glogau in the administrative district of Liegnitz .
The German name of the place is Klein Gräditz . This place name was changed in 1937 in the course of Germanization at the time of National Socialism in Niederfeld . After the demarcation in the period after the Second World War , the place came as Grodziec Mały to the Republic of Poland . Between 1975 and 1998 the place belonged to the Legnica Voivodeship , after its dissolution as a result of a territorial reform, the place came to the Lower Silesian Voivodeship . In 1999, Grodziec Mały became part of the Głogów rural community in the Głogowski Powiat . The mayor of Grodziec Mały is Szymon Jasiński, and Ludwik Twardochleb represents the town on the Gmina Głogów council.
