Richard Marinus Anthonius Groenendaal (born July 13, 1971 in Den Bosch ) is a Dutch cyclist .

Groenendaal is a cross driver and has been driving for the Dutch Rabobank team since 1996 . He is in the squad for the Rabobank Continental youth team .

Groenendaal began his career at the age of 14 with Wielervereniging Schijndel . He drove there from the newbies to the juniors. There he became the national cross-champion of his age group almost every year. In 1989 he even became junior cross-country champion . He experienced his greatest success in 2000 when he became World Cross Country Champion in his home town of Sint-Michielsgestel . The rainbow jersey gave him wings and he had his most successful season on it. The eight-time Dutch elite cross-champion has won many victories in the cross world cup , the Superprestige series and the GvA Trofee in his career .
