Guillermo Rodríguez , full name Guillermo Daniel Rodríguez Pérez , (born March 21, 1984 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .
Career
society
The 1.85 meter tall defensive player Rodríguez was at the beginning of his career from 2002 to 2004 in the ranks of the Uruguayan first division club Danubio FC . During these years he is said to have played in 40 first division games (two goals). In 2004 he won the Uruguayan championship with the Montevideans. In 2005 he played for the Mexican club Atlas Guadalajara in Guadalajara . In Apertura and Clausura he played a total of 29 league games (four goals). In 2006, the RC Lens in France was his first employer. There he was twice (no goal) in Ligue 1 and five times (no goal) in the B-team in the CFA . In the same year he moved to CA Independiente in Argentina . In the seasons 2006/07 to 2008/09 he played 92 games in the Primera División and scored three goals (2006/07: 30 games / 1 goal; 2007/08: 36/2; 2008/09: 26/0) . He also played in two matches (no goal) of the Copa Sudamericana . In early August 2009 he joined the Club Atlético Peñarol . In the 2009/10 season he contributed to winning the national championship title in the "Aurinegros" with 29 games (no goal) in the Primera División . In the 2010/11 season he ran 20 more times in the league and scored two goals. He also played ten games (no goal) in the Copa Libertadores and four (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana. With Peñarol he advanced to the finals of the Copa Libertadores 2011 , in which his team was defeated by FC Santos . He then continued his career from September 2011 in Italy at AC Cesena . He made his debut on September 24, 2011 in the 0-1 away defeat against AC Milan with a starting eleven in the Italian league game. In the 2011/12 season he was used there 27 times (no goal) in Serie A and once (no goal) in Coppa Italia . At the beginning of August 2012, he moved within the league to FC Turin . The statistics show him 28 first division games up to July 2014 (2012/13: 22/0; 2013/14: 6/0) and two national cup games. He then joined Hellas Verona . In the 2014/15 season, including his last game on January 18, 2015, he was used 13 times (no goal) in the top Italian division. He then returned to Uruguay to join the Liverpool FC team coached by Juan Verzeri , according to press reports in July 2015 . Ultimately, however, he tied himself to his ex-club Peñarol for one season in September 2015. In the 2015/16 season he won the championship title with the club. He contributed to this with 19 first division appearances and scored one goal. He was also used twice (no goal) in the 2016 Copa Libertadores . He has been part of the Chiapas FC squad since mid-January 2017 at the latest . With the Mexicans he has not yet been used in the league (as of March 4, 2017), but played a game (no goal) in the Copa México .
National team
Rodríguez belonged to the U-17 team of Uruguay , trained by Juan Jacinto Rodríguez , who participated in the U-17 South American Championship in Peru in 2001 and finished in 6th place. In 2003 he was part of the Uruguayan U-20 national team at the 2003 U-20 South American Championship . He was a member of the Uruguayan senior team . He made his debut under national coach Jorge Fossati on July 13, 2004 in the 2-4 defeat by Argentina in the group game of the 2004 Copa America , when he came on in the 43rd minute for Fabián Estoyanoff . His last appearance was on November 16, 2005 in the 0-1 defeat (2-4 on penalties ) in the World Cup qualifying play-off match against Australia. He played a total of twelve international matches, all under the aegis of Fossati. He did not score an international goal.
