Gustav Scharlach (born March 6, 1811 in Hanover , † March 10, 1881 in Hann. Münden ) was a German administrative lawyer in the Kingdom of Hanover and from 1866 in the Province of Hanover .

Life

From 1829, Scharlach studied law at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . He first became active in the Corps Frisia and joined the Corps Hannovera on April 15, 1832 . He got along with Otto von Bismarck , who became a Hanoverian on July 6, 1832. The friendship lasted until Scarlet's death. It was marked by visits and intensive correspondence . They also used the Göttingen pub names . Scarlet fever was therefore addressed by Bismarck as Giesecke and both often used their pub names in their correspondence regarding the Corps brothers. The correspondence is in the flippant student language of the time.

In 1833, Scharlach was initially an official auditor in the Reinhausen office . In 1844 he was appointed inspector of the state prison in Hildesheim as an official assessor . From 1853 he was a Councilor at the Landdrostei Aurich busy. From 1865 he was the governor of the Münden office , which later came to the Münden district .

He was the son-in-law of Carl Julius Blumenhagen , his predecessor in Hann. Münden.
