Höhenberg is an officially named district of Wiesenfelden and a district in the Lower Bavarian district of Straubing-Bogen .

The village is just under a kilometer east of the eponymous mountain ( 678  m above sea level ) on both sides of the SR 47 district road .

history

The municipality of Höhenberg originally belonged to the Roding District Office , was reclassified to the Regensburg District Office in 1880 and covered a good 827 hectares . In 1946 an area of ​​about 588 hectares was added to the dissolved municipality of Waxenberg with the places Augenthal , Forstbrunn , Hub , Pflegeerschschlag and Schiederhof . In the former community of Höhenberg there were 364 inhabitants in 72 residential buildings in the 1961 census, of which 133 inhabitants in 28 residential buildings in the village of Höhenberg. The district included 1964 1410 hectares. As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , the municipality was reclassified from the Regensburg district to the Straubing-Bogen district on July 1, 1972 . On January 1, 1974, the Höhenberg community lost its independence and was completely incorporated into the Wiesenfelden community.
