Hüseyin Çimşir (born May 26, 1979 in Araklı , Turkey ) is a former Turkish football player and coach.

Player career

society

Çimşir began his career with the Trabzonspor amateur team . Shortly after his appointment to the 1st team, Trabzonspor signed Igor Nikolovski from Sakaryaspor . In return, Trabzon gave Hüseyin to Sakarya. The move to Sakaryaspor and the subsequent transfer to Antalyaspor were two important steps in his career.

Hüseyin Çimşir's good performance brought Trabzonspor's attention back to the former player. Trabzonspor signed the defensive midfielder in 2004. Since then, Hüseyin Çimşir has been a regular and team captain at his home club. He scored his first goal against Fenerbahçe Istanbul on May 13, 2007. Despite the departures of other top performers such as Fatih Tekke or Gökdeniz Karadeniz , who also played for Trabzonspor for many years, he stayed as captain for a long time and was mainly because of his loyalty to the club appreciated as he turned down offers from England, Russia and Greece.

In the summer of 2009, Hüseyin unexpectedly moved to Bursaspor and became champions with his new club in 2009/10. After a disappointing 2010/11 season for Bursaspor, the contract with Çimşir ran out. While Bursaspor had a one-year extension option, they decided not to use this option.

After Çimşir remained without a club for one season, he moved to the new second division side Adana Demirspor in the summer of 2012 . When his contract with Demirspor expired in summer 2013, Çimşir ended his career.

National team

In the Turkish national soccer team Çimşir made his debut on September 4, 2004 against Georgia. On April 22, 1998, he was already on the bench against Russia, but was not used.

Coaching career

Immediately after his playing career, Çimşir began to work as a coach and his first activity was in charge of the youth team of Trabzon Akçaabat FK . From the 2014/15 season he started working as a youth coach for the first division club Akhisar Belediyespor , following his former junior coach Mustafa Reşit Akçay, who was now head coach of Akhisar Belediyespor. In 2014 he was promoted to assistant coach at Akhisar Belediyespor.
