Player career

society

Savman caught the people of Beşiktaş in Istanbul during a tournament trip to the western Turkish city of Bandırma . The club official Şeref Bey then arranged that the then 18-year-old Savman was taken to Istanbul. After a year in the Beşiktaş 'youth department, he was included in the squad of the Beşiktaş' football team for the 1927/28 season . At the time of his entry into the professional squad, his club played in the İstanbul Futbol Ligi (German Istanbul Football League ). Since there was no international professional league in Turkey at that time, there were regional leagues instead in metropolitan areas such as Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir , of which the İstanbul Ligi (also called İstanbul Futbol Ligi) was considered the most renowned. In his first season he was used in two league games despite his young age. Since the league was not continued after two game days because of the 1928 Summer Olympics , Savman could not complete any further games for his club. In his second season he established himself as a regular player.

After he had remained without a title for six seasons with his club, he was able to win the Istanbul championship with his team in the 1933/34 season . Despite this title, Savman reached with his team the next four seasons no title win. It was not until the 1938/39 season that he and his team won the championship of the Istanbul Football League. In the following four years, Savman and his team managed to defend their title in the Istanbul championship four times. This broke several league records. In addition, the Milli Küme was won in the 1940/41 season , a kind of championship in which the teams from the three cities of Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir participated. Savman played mostly as a left-back during his career. However, he also played as a striker temporarily. In the championship season 1939/40 he was active as a striker at times and scored 13 goals in nine league games.

After the untitled 1943/44 season, Savman ended his career.

National team

Savman began his national team career in 1928 with a use for the Turkish national team in the friendly against Yugoslavia . With this encounter he completed his first international match. By 1937 he had completed seven more international matches and wore the captain's armband on his last three missions.

With the Turkish selection, Savman took part in the 1936 Summer Olympics. He also took part with the national team in the Balkan Cup in 1931 and became a silver medalist with this.
