h1 - television from Hannover e. V. is a non-profit association based in Hanover at Landschaftstraße 7 (near the Aegi ). With h1, he operates the first television station specifically for the Hanover region and its towns, which also includes the city of Hanover.

Station description

The association also gives non-members, such as individuals or editorial groups , associations , initiatives and institutions , opportunities to present their concerns to a broader public.

All citizens of the region can register for training courses on site , for example camera work or film and sound editing . A TV and a mobile studio are also available.

The transmitter, which also apprenticeships are offered, pursuing the goal of a recent, critical and competent coverage of events from the political , cultural and the social people of Hanover and the surrounding area.

The non-profit h1 sponsoring association is economically and politically independent in order to enable a broadcaster to be an essential part of the democratic media landscape.

Regular programs are also produced mainly on a voluntary basis by citizens from Hanover and the surrounding area. In their own productions, laypeople can also try their hand at being an actor , director , producer , interviewer or screenwriter .

In cooperation with the htp GmbH , a telecommunications company of the Stadtwerke Hannover and the EWE AG , current programs can be followed on the Internet.

history

After the amendment of the Lower Saxony State Broadcasting Act in 1993, the Association Offener Kanal Hannover e. V. (OK Hanover). The station went on air on September 22, 1996 with the culture magazine OKOK Television and the Steilpass Sport TV .

In autumn 2011, the station celebrated its 15th anniversary with the campaign “15 years - 15 locations”. During this action, viewers were able to visit 15 different locations in Hanover from a different perspective. The selected viewers were accompanied by a camera team, u. a. The audience could look behind the scenes of the architecturally striking building of the Nord / LB , or visit the stadium of Hanover 96 , the AWD-Arena .

In April 2013, the Schindler's ½ hour youth magazine received the Fink TV award in the category of best citizens' broadcast . The program was produced once a month from March 2012 to August 2013 by the station's trainees.

On 5 December 2013 the h1 reporter was Mark T. Hofmann from the Lower Saxony State Media Authority of Lower Saxony Media Award in the category Entertainment awarded for his documentary " insects as a meat substitute ."
