Haardt is a district of Weißenburg in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen with around 140 inhabitants.
location
Haardt is located on a plateau between Dettenheim and Suffersheim , four kilometers south of the city of Weißenburg and south of Ludwigswald , the Weißenburg city forest . It consists of the old town and a small, somewhat remote new housing estate. Northeast of Haardt, the 11th degree of longitude and the 49th degree of latitude intersect. Haardt is located directly on the European main watershed and is therefore "split in two" hydrologically.
history
Around 1300 Haardt was founded as a clearing settlement by the Marshals von Pappenheim . The place name, which comes from Middle High German , means Hart in the light of the pasture forest . Haardt differed from the other clearing villages in the area by its irregular shape as a street village . In 1408 Haardt came to a Weißenburg finance broker who sold the place in 1414 to the Benedictine monastery of Wülzburg . During the Reformation , Haardt fell to the Protestant Margraves of Ansbach . Ecclesiastically, the place belonged to Suffersheim. In the course of the municipal reform , the previously independent municipality of Haardt was incorporated into Weissenburg on May 1, 1978.
