Location of Laubenthal in Bavaria

Laubenthal is a forester's house and part of the large district town of Weißenburg in Bavaria in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen . The forester's house is at an altitude of around 480 meters above  sea ​​level and has three inhabitants (as of 1987).

Laubenthal is located in the Altmühltal Nature Park in the middle of the Franconian Alb in the Laubental . The place is at the confluence of the district road WUG 36 with the federal road 13 . To the south lies Rothenstein , to the west Suffersheim , not far from the source of the Schambach . The municipality boundary to Pappenheim runs south of the village, to the east the municipality boundary to Raitenbuch . To the north lies the Weißenburger Stadtwald , east of the Raitenbucher Forst , and southeast of the protected Laubenbuch forest . In the area around Laubenthal there are several marble factories as well as ski trails and a ski lift . Laubenthal is surrounded by the fauna and flora habitat Schambachtal with side valleys . Laubenthal is situated in the protection zone in the Altmühltal Nature Park , a conservation area .

In 1846 there were two houses, three families and nine souls as well as an innkeeper, a tailor and a shoemaker in Laubenthal. In 1875 the eight residents of Laubenthal lived in three buildings. They owned a total of three horses and five head of cattle. Before the municipal reform in Bavaria in the 1970s, the forester's house Laubenthal was a district of Suffersheim.
