Hagenbuch is a district of Weißenburg in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen .
geography
The place has 340 inhabitants and is located at an altitude of 420 m above sea level on the Bösbach between Weißenburg and Höttingen . Hagenbuch is only separated from Weißenburg by Bundesstraße 2 , with an underpass connecting the towns. The main street of the village is the district street WUG 18 .
history
Hagenbuch was first mentioned in 1248; the place name means fenced clearing settlement . The core of the settlement at that time was located at two farms in the northeast of the village. The Bösbachsiedlung residential area was built in the 1960s . Until the municipal area reform , Hagenbuch was a district of Weiboldshausen , but on May 1, 1978 it was reorganized to Weißenburg. Ecclesiastically, the place still belongs to Weiboldshausen.
