Hagenau is a district of the city of Baiersdorf in the Erlangen-Höchstadt district in Middle Franconia .

location

The forest area Im Weidich borders east of the church village . Otherwise the place is immediately surrounded by arable land and grassland. In the north-west it is affected by the district road ERH 5 / FO 7 , which runs to Poxdorf (0.75 km northeast) or to Baiersdorf (1.25 km west). In the east, the place is affected by the district road FO 26 , which also leads to Poxdorf (0.5 km north) and Langensendelbach (1.75 km south-east).

history

1938 was Flak and - Air Force - spare parts warehouse built on an area that partly to the municipality of Poxdorf , some of Langensendelbach belonged and for this purpose by the German Reich was expropriated. After the war ended , the buildings were confiscated and on June 1, 1946, it was decided to use them as a refugee settlement . A little later, the entire area of ​​the municipality of Poxdorf was closed. The new settlement was named Hagenau with effect from November 5, 1951.

On May 1, 1978, Hagenau was incorporated into the city of Baiersdorf as part of the regional reform .
