Harold Everett Greer (born June 26, 1936 in Huntington , West Virginia - † April 14, 2018 in Phoenix , Arizona ) was an American basketball player . Between 1958 and 1973 he played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Syracuse Nationals / Philadelphia 76ers team . He was part of the 1967 Sixers 'championship team that broke the Boston Celtics' supremacy .
Greer was named ten times in a row in the NBA All-Star Team (1961-1970). He was also voted Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the All-Star Games in 1968. Greer was named to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1982 and was named one of the 50 best players in NBA history in 1996 for the 50th anniversary of the NBA .
