The Halsköpfl is a 1719 m above sea level. NHN high summit and forms the last elevation in the northern foothills of the Funtenseetauern in the Berchtesgaden Alps . From there you have a wonderful view over the Königssee , to the Watzmann , the Teufelshörner and the Gotzenberge . The small viewing platform can be reached via path 416, which leads from the Kärlingerhaus over the Wasseralm to the Gotzenalm . Alternatively, a direct ascent via the Sagerecksteig from the Saletalm is possible. The Halsköpfl breaks off almost vertically (through the Walchhüttenwand) to the Obersee at over 1100 meters .
