Hannes Ossian Hyvönen (born August 29, 1975 in Oulu ) is a former Finnish ice hockey player who has played in the position of right winger for various teams in the Swedish Elitserien , the Finnish SM-liiga and the Continental Hockey League .
Career
Hyvönen first went through the junior teams of Kärpät Oulu and TPS Turku before he played his first games for Turku in the Finnish first division in the 1994/95 season . The Finn stayed with TPS until the end of the 1997/98 season and won the European Hockey League with the team in 1997 . The striker then moved to Espoo Blues , from where he went to HIFK Helsinki in the 1999/00 season .
In the summer of 2001, the winger moved to North America. There he had signed a contract with the San Jose Sharks , a franchise of the National Hockey League , which had selected him in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft in the ninth round in 257th place. The Sharks put Hyvönen time being in their American Hockey League - the farm team , the Cleveland Barons , one. During the 2001/02 season he also played six NHL games. After the season, San Jose transferred him to the Florida Panthers as part of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft , but they put him on the waiver list. From there, the Columbus Blue Jackets took the Finn under contract. Hyvönen played the beginning of the 2002/03 season in the NHL squad and ran in 36 games.
In January 2003 Hyvönen returned to Europe and played for Färjestad BK in the Swedish Elitserien until November 2004 , but was then given up to Ilves Tampere in his Finnish homeland. 2005 switching to followed Friborg-Gottéron in the Swiss National League A . After only 16 games, he returned to Finland to Jokerit Helsinki . For the 2006/07 season he moved to his home club Kärpät Oulu for one year, which he left again in summer 2008 when he signed a contract with the Swedish first division club Södertälje SK . The Finn didn't stay there long, however, as his contract was terminated by the Swedes at the end of November. Hyvönen then joined the HK Dinamo Minsk from the Continental Hockey League .
In January 2010 , Dinamo Minsk gave Hyvönen to Ak Bars Kazan and received a compensation payment in return. Hyvönen reached the playoff final with Kazan, defeated HK MWD Balaschicha 4: 3 and won the Gagarin Cup . Despite this success, he did not receive a contract extension. At the beginning of the 2010/11 season he received a short-term contract for four games with the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers from the National League A , before he was committed in November 2010 by HK tractor Chelyabinsk . In January 2011 his contract was terminated and Hyvönen returned to HIFK. After ten games for HIFK, his contract was dissolved in March. After that he was without a club before he was signed by Färjestad BK in late September 2011.
His last career station was Karlskrona BK before he announced his resignation in December 2012.
International
For Finland , Hyvönen took part in the A-World Championships in 2008 and 2009 . At the 2008 World Cup, he won the bronze medal with his team.
