Hanns-Heinz Kasper

Hanns-Heinz Kasper (born May 6, 1925 in Annaberg ; † May 7, 1999 ) was a German local politician , economic historian and museologist .

Life

Kasper attended the Realgymnasium in Annaberg and was drafted into the Wehrmacht after graduating from high school and took part in the Second World War. During combat operations, he was shot through the leg and arm and lost his right ear.

From 1952 to 1955 he was mayor in Wernsdorf and from 1955 to 1959 in neighboring Pockau . From 1959 he studied at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig . Since 1963 he worked as an assistant at the Bergakademie Freiberg . 1967 doctorate he at the Department of Vocational Education and Cultural Studies at the Technical University of Dresden to Dr. sc. The title of his dissertation is The Help of the Working Class in the Socialist Transformation of Agriculture in the Years 1952 to 1955, illustrated using the example of the districts of the Zwickau-Ölsnitzer coal field .

In 1974, Hanns-Heinz Kasper successfully defended his dissertation B at the Technical University of Dresden on the subject of oil production in Germany from 1933 to 1945 . Later he also acquired the academic Facultas Docendi .

Hanns-Heinz Kasper was appointed head of the historical cabinet and the Clemens Winkler memorial. At the same time he was from 1981 until the dissolution of the chairman of the society for local history in the district of Karl-Marx-Stadt , where he organized, for example, numerous events to well-known personalities of the region.

In his own research he devoted himself specifically to the recent history of science and its close connections to the mining industry, especially in the Ore Mountains . He demonstrated great organizational talent, the best example of which was the holding of the international scientific conference ICOHTEC (International Committee for the History of Technology) in Freiberg from September 4 to 8, 1978 in Freiberg with 76 participants from 14 countries. He was directly involved in the preparations for the 800th anniversary of the mountain town of Freiberg in 1986. He was co-editor of the anniversary volume History of the Bergstadt Freiberg , on which he also contributed as an author. At the in -Tourist Verlag in three disbursements to 1992 published guide Freiberg Hanns Heinz Kasper was also involved.

The focus of his research since the beginning of the 1970s has been the Saigerhütte Grünthal in Olbernhau-Grünthal, the history of which he published for the first time in a two-volume work. The third volume of this treatise, which describes the history of the Saigerhütte as VEB Blechwalzwerk Olbernhau in the years between 1945 and 1992, remained unfinished. It was only published in 2010 in the publishing house Gumnior in Chemnitz with the participation of his son Hans-Hendrik Kasper (1951-2011), the Olbernhauer mayor Steffen Laub and the Saigerhüttenverein Olbernhau-Grünthal eV under the title Das Blechwalzwerk Olbernhau 1945-1990 as volume 3 of the series history of metallurgy in the city of Olbernhau .

Hanns-Heinz Kasper died one day after his 74th birthday.

His scientific estate is now managed as 40187 estate of Hanns-Heinz Kasper in the Freiberg mountain archive .
