Pockau has belonged to the parish of Lengefeld since the village was founded after 1150, but in the Catholic period before 1540 it had its own chapel and thus the right to branch. For the first time in 1729 an application was made for its own church and repeated in 1734. The applications were repeatedly rejected. In 1884 the inhabitants applied for the separation from Lengefeld, which was granted by the sovereign. The local Christians decided to build their own church and gave the builder Neubert from Olbernhau the corresponding order. The foundation stone was laid on April 28, 1885, and the building was consecrated in neo-Gothic style on November 30, 1885 .

Museums

  • Technical monument Pockau oil mill: The Pockau oil mill, which has been preserved in working order, is the only mill in Europe in which the extraction of linseed oil using the methods of the 17th century is shown. It was built in 1783 as a water mill and has a ramming mechanism driven by a water wheel and a hammer press.
  • Electoral fishery : Fisheries in the Pockau and Flöha were once monitored from the half-timbered house built in 1653 . At the same time, the caught fish was processed here. In the 21st century the house is used as a museum and club house.
