In 1764 the Nennigmühle was mentioned as the official mill of the Lauterstein Office . In 1840 the settlement was assigned to the parish of Zöblitz . August Schumann named Nennigmühle belonging to Wernsdorf in the State Lexicon of Saxony in 1825:

"[...] also belongs to places a mill of two  courses , which also bears the name Nennigsmühle and lies on the fleas."

In 1858 Nennigmühle was incorporated into Wernsdorf.

On September 1, 1877, Nennigmühle received a railway connection to the Flöhatalbahn with the stop of the same name . The route has been served by the Erzgebirgsbahn since 2002 . In the work "New Saxon Church Gallery" it says about Nennigmühle:

“Nennigmühle, on the Flöha, train station on the Pockau – Lengefeld – Olbernhau – Neuhausen line, is a district of Wernsdorf and includes an estate with a tavern and a wood grinding shop and belongs to the factory owner Rechenberger in Deutschkatharinaberg. She counts z. Z. 33 residents and sends the children to Wernsdorf to school. "

In 1917 a Christian educational institution was set up in the Nennigmühle estate, which in 1930 was converted into a YMCA youth hostel . Between 1943 and 1945 there was a military hospital for Soviet prisoners of war in Nennigmühle , in which the forced laborers from the Zwickau coal pits who were no longer able to work were left to die. An obelisk on the road to Sorgau commemorates 96 victims of forced labor with name plaques.

On March 1, 1994, Wernsdorf was incorporated with Nennigmühle to Pockau.
