Hotel FM is a Romanian pop band that was founded in 2005 and competed in the Eurovision Song Contest for Romania in May 2011 .

Career

Hotel FM after winning the Romanian ESC preliminary decision

All first members come from Oradea and formed at the initiative of the composer Gabriel Băruțas , who was looking for musicians to realize his musical concepts. This was followed by first appearances in Germany and Romania and in spring 2006 a first CD for promotional purposes . The line-up changed continuously.

In 2010, the group took part in the Romanian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest Selecţia Naţională and took fourth place with the ballad Come as One . Again under a different formation, she reapplied for 2011, with the English-language title Change , written by Gabriel Băruţa and Alexandra Ivan , prevailing against 15 competitors in the New Year's Eve show on the responsible broadcaster TVR, thanks to an additional jury evaluation chaired by three-time Irish winner Johnny Logan . In the audience vote, however, only second place was achieved. As the overall winner, the band represented Romania at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest , which took place on May 10, 12 and 14 in Düsseldorf .

On May 12, 2011, the formation interpreted the English-language title in the second ESC semi-final in Düsseldorf, whereupon it made it into the final two days later. In the final they finished 17th with 77 points.
