Maria Ilinca Băcilă (born August 17, 1998 in Târgu Mureș ) is a Romanian singer .

Live and act

Ilinca comes from a musical family from Cluj-Napoca and graduated from high school in 2017. At the age of 14 she participated in the Romanian version of The X-Factor , two years later in Românii au Talent and in 2014 in Vocea României , where she reached the semifinals.

In 2017 she took part in the Selecția Națională 2017 , the Romanian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest . Together with Alex Florea , they achieved the duet Yodel It! first place in the preliminary round before they could repeat this in the final on March 5th. With almost 10,400 votes, they achieved almost twice as many votes as the runner-up Mihai Trăistariu , who had already represented Romania at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest . Ilinca and Alex Florea represented Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kiev . In the second semi-final they placed in the top ten and thus qualified for the final. They came in seventh in the final.

On her YouTube channel Yodelinca, she documented her Eurovision Song Contest trip with eleven video logs and spoke in her video "My life after EUROVISION" about how her life has developed after the ESC .

In February 2018, she announced in one of her videos that she had posed naked with 25 other artists for a project by a Romanian photographer and talks about her experiences and her motivations.
