Vlad Miriță or Vlad (born August 2, 1981 in Târgovişte , Dâmbovița district ) is a Romanian pop and opera singer . Together with Nico , he represented Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrade , Serbia .

At the age of 16, Vlad began studying music and singing. He also worked with the Armonia Valaha Choir and appeared at various national and international events. After taking private lessons with Corneliu Fânăţeanu in 2001, he became a singer with the Eastern European chamber choir "Madrigal". Vlad later won several national singing competitions such as Mamaia , the national pop festival in 2002 and came second at the Festival of International Tenors "Traian Grozavescu" in 2005 in Lugoj . In August 2007 he was awarded a scholarship from the Opera Națională Bucureşti .

Together with the Romanian singer Nico , Vlad prevailed over his competitors in Romania's national preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest . Nico and Vlad competed with the song Pe-o margine de lume first in the first semifinals on May 20, 2008, where they finished 7th and thus qualified for the final on May 24th. There they reached 20th place out of a total of 25 participants with a total of 45 points.
