Mălina Olinescu

Mălina Olinescu (born January 29, 1974 in Bucharest ; † December 12, 2011 there ) was a Romanian singer .

Life

Olinescu's musical career began in 1995, performing at music festivals such as Mamaia and Cerbul de Aur . In 1997 she achieved her first national hit with Mi-e Dor De Tine . A year later she won the Selecția Națională , the Romanian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest , with the song Eu cred (German: "I believe"). In Birmingham at the Eurovision Song Contest 1998 , however, the song only reached 22nd place with 6 points, which came from Israel . A short time later, their album Pot Să Zbor was released . In 2003 Olinescu appeared again with the song Tăcerea Doare in the Romanian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest.

On December 12, 2011, Olinescu committed suicide by jumping out of the window of her sixth floor apartment.
