Nicoleta Alexandru (born November 5, 1968 in Bucharest ), better known as Nicola , is a Romanian pop singer .

Nicola began her solo career in 1992 and made a name for herself in her home country with concert tours and several television and radio appearances. In 2003 she was voted Woman of the Year by Avantaje magazine . Her song "Lângă Mine" was awarded as best title at the Love Song Festival .

On March 1, 2003 Nicola won the national preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest in Riga . With Don't break my heart , she took tenth place in the final bill.
