Mandinga is a Romanian Latin Pop band that has existed since 2002.
The group from Bucharest mixes Latin American music with dance and pop elements and has already released various albums in Romania. Until the end of 2005 Elena Gheorghe was the singer and front woman of the project, after whose departure Elena "Helen" Ionescu was engaged.
The group won the Selecția Națională , the national preliminary decision in 2012, with the title Zaleilah , and was therefore allowed to compete in the first semifinals for Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku .
