Hanns Georg Fux

Hanns Georg Fux (baptized January 26, 1661 in Ausserpfitsch ; † February 19, 1706 in Straubing ) was a sculptor and ivory carver from South Tyrol . Its main place of activity was Straubing.

Life

Fux spent his apprenticeship with an armorer in Sterzing , where he also learned carving. In 1693 he sought citizenship in Straubing, received it two and a half years later, passed the master's examination and was approved as a master sculptor in Straubing.

After the death of Hanns Georg Fux, his widow married his professional colleague Franz Mozart , who was thus able to take over the deceased's craftsmanship . After Mozart's death, handicraft justice passed to Simon Hofer (1683–1749); he had married the daughter of Hanns Georg Fux.
