Hannu Patronen (born May 23, 1984 in Järvenpää ) is a Finnish football player . The defender made his debut for the Finnish national team in 2008 .
Career
Patronen began his football career at FC Honka in Espoo . After he became champion of the Ykkönen with the second division in 2005 , he rose with the team in the first-class Veikkausliiga . In the following two and a half years, the central defender played 47 first division games for the club, scoring two goals. Due to his constant performance, national coach Stuart Baxter appointed him to the national team in February 2008, where he was allowed to act as a substitute for Markus Halsti from the 83rd minute in the 0-1 defeat against Poland by a goal by Adam Kokoszka on February 2 .
In the summer of that year, Patronen left his home country and moved to Sweden to become the four-time champion Helsingborgs IF . He signed a 3½-year contract with his new employer. In the team around players like Christoffer Andersson , Henrik Larsson , Andreas Landgren and Isaac Chansa , he established himself under coach Bo Nilsson in the regular formation and played all 17 league games until the end of the season in the Allsvenskan . In his second season at the club, cartridges were only used irregularly. In particular, the young players Joel Ekstrand and Landgren ousted the defender from the regular formation, who was in the starting line-up eight times during the season. After Landgren's departure, the club signed a successor in early 2011 with Peter Larsson on loan, so that Patronen tried to change clubs. Although he stayed with the club, due to injury he had to pause for much of the season and after his recovery was only used in phases in the team of the league leaders. With six league appearances and one goal he still contributed to winning the championship title.
