Hans-Jürgen Wittfoht (born January 29, 1948 in Lübeck ) is a former German football player.

career

"Mecki" Wittfoht went through the youth teams of TuS and VfB Lübeck in his hometown and from the 1967/68 season belonged to the VfB league team in the North Regional Football League . Under coach Heinz Lucas , the young player made his debut with the Green-Whites von der Lohmühle in the Regionalliga and finished ninth with VfB in 1968. In his second year in the Regionalliga - 1968/69 - he was part of the VfB Lübeck runner- up team with Siegfried Agurew , Siegfried Bronnert , Helmut Hosung and Horst Wenzel . In the promotion round to the BundesligaBut coach Kurt Krause's team had no chance against rivals Rot-Weiß Oberhausen , Freiburg FC , SV Alsenborn and Hertha Zehlendorf . "Mecki" Wittfoht had drawn the attention of VfB Stuttgart scouts in his eight promotion round games and signed a contract with the Swabian Bundesliga club for the 1969/70 round.

Wittfoht had scored four goals in 34 league games. After Klaus Ochs, the trainers Reinhold Ertel (interim Edu Sausmikat), Siegfried Melzig (interim Sausmikat), Reinhard Roder and Radoslav Momirski came to the Bremer Brücke. Wittfoht played a total of 109 games for Osnabrück in the 2nd Bundesliga from 1974 to 1977 and scored ten goals. He played his last league game on September 11, 1977 in a 6-1 home win against Schwarz-Weiß Essen .

In the 1978/79 round he joined the neighbor and test match partner of VfL Osnabrück, TSG Burg Gretesch, as a player and youth coach.
