Hans-Jakob Tiessen

Hans-Jakob Tiessen (* 1948 in Nordhastedt / Dithmarschen district ) is a German lawyer , district administrator and energy manager . He has been President of the Schleswig-Holstein State Sports Association since 2013 .

education

After high school and military service , Tiessen began a three-year training course at the Foreign Office in 1969 , which took him to the German Consulate General in Genoa and then to the main office in Bonn . From 1972 to 1977 he studied law at the University of Hamburg and at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel . After the 1st state examination in law, the legal traineeship followed and in 1979 the great state examination in law followed.

Civil service

The lawyer found his first employment as a speaker in the Federal Chancellery under Chancellor Helmut Schmidt . When the previous government spokesman and head of the Federal Press Office, Klaus Bölling, took up his new position as head of the Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany in East Berlin on February 9, 1981 , he took Tiessen with him as a personal advisor. He held this position from 1982 to 1986 under Bölling's successor, Hans Otto Bräutigam . In 1986 the district council of his home district Dithmarschen elected the non-party Tiessen as district administrator. During his term of office in 1993, the West Coast University of Applied Sciences was opened in Heide , and he had played a key role in the creation of it.

Energy manager

In 1996 he switched to the energy industry and became the commercial director of Schleswig-Holsteinische Stromversorgungs AG (Schleswag) in Rendsburg , which at that time was already majority owned by PreussenElektra . In December 2000 he was elected CEO of the company. However, on November 1, 2002, he moved to HEIN GAS Hamburger Gaswerke GmbH , where he became chairman of the management board. In this position he played a key role in the merger of Schleswig-Holsteinische Stromversorgungs AG, HEIN GAS Hamburger Gaswerke GmbH and Mecklenburg- HGW HanseGas GmbH. He headed the resulting E.ON Hanse AG from September 1, 2003 as CEO until December 31, 2012. After 17 years in the energy industry, he left for reasons of age, but took up the position of chairman of the subsidiary's supervisory board on January 1, 2013 Schleswig-Holstein Netz AG. He only held this office until May 30, 2014. He declared his resignation with the need to concentrate more on his voluntary work, because on June 22, 2013 he had already been elected President of the Schleswig-Holstein State Sports Association and resigned to succeed Ekkehard Wienholtz .
