Hans Albrecht (born October 2, 1909 in Romanshorn , † October 19, 1995 in St. Gallen , Catholic , entitled to live in Mels and since 1970 in St. Gallen) was a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

biography

Hans Albrecht was on October 2, 1909 as a son of the cofactors of SBB born August Albrecht in Romanshorn. After attending the canton school , he completed a bank training. Albrecht then played a leading role as managing director from 1934 to 1962, as chairman of the board from 1962 to 1968 and as president from 1968 to 1981 in the establishment and expansion of the Eastern Switzerland Guarantee and Trust Cooperative (OBTG) into one of the largest trust companies in Switzerland.

In addition, from 1954 to 1976 Hans Albrecht acted as President of the St.Galler Kantonalbank and from 1963 to 1979 as a board member of the Swiss Trade Association , of which he was made an honorary member in 1962. In addition, Albrecht was a member of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce from 1955 to 1982.

Hans Albrecht, who was married to the daughter of a master carpenter, died on October 19, 1995 at the age of 86 in St. Gallen. He was the younger brother of the CVP politician August Albrecht .

Political career

Hans Albrecht, FDP member, presided over the cantonal party from 1944 to 1952 and was a member of the national party leadership. From 1945 to 1972 Albrecht was represented in the St. Gallen Grand Council. He was also a member of the National Council from 1948 to 1954 . After the Second World War, Albrecht played a major role in the construction of the new spa center in Bad Ragaz and the Valens spa clinic.
