Johannes (Hans) Dedi (born December 11, 1918 in Basel ; † June 12, 2016 in Fürth ) was a German entrepreneur and businessman. After marrying Louise Schickedanz, a daughter of Gustav Schickedanz , Dedi joined the Quelle mail order company. He headed the Schickedanz Group from 1977 to 1988.

Life

Dedi was born as the son of a textile manufacturer Joseph Dedi. His father was a director of the Hüssy & Künzli AG textile factory in Murg / Baden and an honorary citizen of the place. He attended boarding school in Salem , where he passed his matriculation examination, and the commercial college in Neuchâtel .

Dedi was wounded during his war service in World War II , most recently as a military flight instructor. After he was released from the hospital, he joined the Offenburg spinning and weaving mill in 1946 , where he was promoted to the board of directors. In 1952 Hans Dedi and Louise Schickedanz (1925–1994), daughter from the first marriage of Gustav Schickedanz (1895–1977), the head of the Quelle mail order company, married . In 1958 he moved to his father-in-law's company as an authorized signatory , became a general representative in 1962 and, after the death of Gustav Schickedanz in 1977, took over the chairmanship of the board. In 1982 he switched to the chairmanship of the Schickedanz Holding. Although Dedi had been the head of the Schickedanz Group since 1977, Grete Schickedanz still had a great influence on the company's fortunes as the chairman of the board of directors at Quelle and a partner in the Gustav und Grete Schickedanz KG holding company . She did not resign until February 1987.

After the death of his father, Dedi also took over the family company Hüssy & Künzli AG in 1967 and the Gold-Zack works in 1970 . He was also involved as a member and vice-president of the Presidium of the Foreign Trade Association of German Retailers . In 1988 he retired. However, he was a member of the Board of Trustees in the Schickedanz Group until the end of 1994. With his work he made a significant contribution to the business success and increase in sales of the Schickedanz Group from 1958 to 1988.

Most recently Dedi lived in Fürth , the former headquarters of Quelle's parent company. The marriage to Louise Schickedanz († September 1994) had the children Roland (†), Martin and Margarete. Hans Dedi was in his second marriage to Irmingard Dedi, geb. Mail, married.
