Hans Otto Wesemann

Hans Otto Wesemann (born February 16, 1903 in Frankfurt am Main , † November 7, 1976 in Bensberg ) was a German journalist .

Life

Wesemann studied from 1921 to 1925 law and economics at the universities of Munich , Berlin and Halle and graduated with doctorate to Dr. rer. pole. from. From 1926 he wrote as an editor for the economic service . From 1936 he was director of the Reichs-Kraftwagen-Verband in Berlin . In addition, from 1940 he worked for the weekly newspaper Das Reich .

After the end of the Second World War , he first worked for the Berliner Kurier and later for the NWDR , where he became head of the business radio department. In 1953 he moved to Deutsche Welle , where he was editor-in-chief and its first director from 1961 to 1968 . In 1964 Wesemann was appointed chairman of the board of the newly established Stiftung Warentest by the Federal Ministry of Economics .

Wesemann was a member of the Mont Pèlerin Society until 1971 . From 1969 to 1972 he was a member of the Advisory Board of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation .

Hans Otto Wesemann should not be confused with the forward editor and later Gestapo agent Hans Wesemann (* 1895 in Nienburg / Weser; † 1971 in Caracas).
