Hans Georg Huber

Hans Georg Huber (born September 6, 1942 in Neumarkt idOPf .; † March 15, 2014 in Berching ) was a German process engineer and entrepreneur .

Life

Hans Huber studied process engineering at the Technical University of Munich from 1961 to 1967 . In 1967 he and his brother Karl-Josef took over the management of the traditional family company Hans Huber GmbH (since 2003 Hans Huber AG, since 2009 Huber SE ) and acted as a board member. In the decades that followed, they built the house into a globally active company with the development of machines and systems for water treatment and treatment of polluted water and service water as well as fresh water treatment in the areas of water supply and wastewater disposal.

In addition to his entrepreneurial activity, Huber was involved in several interest groups of entrepreneurs. He was a member of the Presidium of the Economic Advisory Board of the Union, an association of entrepreneurs closely related to the Union parties . In 1998 he was elected European Dynamic Entrepreneur, in 2002 he received the environmental medal of the Free State of Bavaria and in 2004 the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon. Also in 2004 he became a member of the research advisory board of the Research Institute for Water and Waste Management at RWTH Aachen University . Since 2005 he has been a member of the Council of Distinguished Water Professionals of the International Water Association IWA in London and a partner in the Bavarian Environment Pact , a collaboration between the Bavarian state government and the Bavarian economy. Since the establishment of the Bavarian Environment Cluster in 2006, he worked as a cluster spokesman until he gave up the office in June 2013 and was replaced by Reinhard Büchl . Huber was made an honorary cluster speaker.

Hans Huber had also been an honorary citizen of his hometown Berching since 2004 .

In October 2006, together with the plant ecologist Ernst-Detlef Schulze, he was awarded the environmental prize of the Federal Environment Foundation for the development of robust systems for fresh water and wastewater treatment that can be used in emerging and developing countries . In July 2007 he received the Bavarian Order of Merit from the hand of the Bavarian Prime Minister Edmund Stoiber .

Furthermore, in October 2007 he was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Technical University of Munich (Faculty of Civil Engineering and Surveying) for his exceptional engineering achievements in the field of technical environmental protection .

Hans Huber had been a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Tuiskonia Munich in the CV since 1961 .
