Hans Keller (District President)

Hans Keller (born May 6, 1920 in Kusel ; † April 30, 1992 there ) was a German administrative officer.

Live and act

Keller spent his school days in his hometown of Kusel. In the Second World War he took part as a first lieutenant in the reserve. He was awarded the Iron Cross . After his release from captivity, he studied law and political science in Heidelberg and Mainz from 1946 to 1951 . He then did an administrative training at the University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer and worked for the district offices in Kusel, Westerburg and Birkenfeld . In 1952 he finally passed the great state examination. From 1953 to 1955 he was government assistant and councilor in the district government of the Palatinate and in the Ministry of the Interior of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate .

In 1954, Keller was appointed District Administrator of the District of Zell , the appointment was made on March 4, 1955. On March 1, 1966, he moved to Neustadt an der Weinstrasse , where he took up his new office as District President in the Palatinate District . After this in 1968 in the new administrative district Rheinhessen-Pfalz , he was its first district president until he retired on July 15, 1983.

Keller was married until his death. His funeral service took place in the Pauluskirche in Hambach an der Weinstrasse , his final resting place is in Kusel.
