Hugo Eugen Steinmann (born November 30, 1839 in Baumgarten , Lower Silesia , † 1899 in Liegnitz ) was a German district administrator in Stuhm and Zell.

Life

Eugen was a son of the married couple Carl Friedrich Ludwig and his wife Eleonore Steinmann. After finishing his school education, Steinmann began an apprenticeship in forestry in 1856. He then studied law and camera science at the Silesian Friedrich Wilhelms University . In 1858 he was reciprocated in the Corps Marchia Breslau . From 1859 he attended the Forestry Academy in Neustadt in West Prussia . From 1860 to 1871 he served as a lieutenant in the Royal Prussian Jäger Battalion No. 8 and ended his active military service on October 23, 1871 with the rank of captain .

In 1872 Steinmann resumed his legal training and joined the Prussian judicial service as a court trainee. This was followed in 1875 by his appointment as district administrator in the Stuhm district . After that, on February 2, 1878, he received his appointment to the provisional district administrator in the Zell district , which was then converted into a final appointment on August 16, 1878. However, since the mayor of Traben-Trarbach had applied for the position as district administrator of the Zell district at the same time , a conflict that lasted until 1882 arose, which the Koblenz district president ultimately decided to Steinmann's disadvantage. In 1880 Steinmann passed the great state examination for aptitude for higher administrative service and then switched to the government in Cologne in August 1884 , from there to Kröben and ultimately to Liegnitz . On October 1, 1897, he was retired at his own request while simultaneously characterizing him as a Privy Councilor .

Steinmann had married on October 21, 1868 in Lassan Friederike Julie Charlotte Auguste von Krauthoff (born October 4, 1845).
