Carl Knebel

Carl Knebel (born October 14, 1839 in Kreuznach , † August 18, 1898 in Cologne ) was a German administrative officer and parliamentarian .

Life

Carl Knebel was born the son of the educator and philologist Heinrich Knebel . After graduating from the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Gymnasium in Cologne in 1857 , he studied law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg. In 1858 he became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Heidelberg . When he was inactive, he moved to the Friedrichs-Universität Halle and the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin . In 1860 he became an auscultator at the Cologne Regional Court and served as a one-year volunteer in the infantry regiment "von Lützow" (1st Rheinisches) No. 25 . He then completed the government traineeship with the government in Cologne . At the beginning of 1866 he passed the government assessor exam. He took part in the German War as a reserve officer and fought in the Battle of Königgrätz .

Knebel became district administrator for the Zell district in 1867 . At the end of August 1870 he became sub-prefect or district director of the Saarburg district in the Lorraine district , where he remained in the office of the district administrator of the Zell district and was only temporarily represented. At the beginning of 1872 he returned to Zell. In June 1875 he moved to the Merzig district as district administrator , where he was in office until the end of 1890. He then lived in Cologne and Beckingen .

From the beginning of the 12th legislative period from 1873 to 1898, Knebel was an elected member of the Prussian House of Representatives as a representative of the National Liberal Party from constituency 4 (Kreuznach, Simmern, Zell) in the Koblenz administrative district . For a time he was also a member of the Rhenish Provincial Parliament .
