Hans Leitert (born January 15, 1973 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian football player in the position of goalkeeper , former goalkeeper coach and current goalkeeper coach instructor and consultant.

Career

As a player

Leitert began his football career in 1984 with the Vienna regional league club SC Essling 1984. He switched to the traditional Viennese club FK Austria Wien on loan and was second / third goalkeeper behind Franz Wohlfahrt , the then national goalkeeper of the Austrian national team. He himself was the goalkeeper of the then U18 and U21 national team. From 1992 to 1995 he gained match practice in the Regionalliga Ost. In 1995 he received goalkeeper at VfB Mödling and was the youngest goalkeeper in Austria's Bundesliga. Due to a broken scaphoid bone in his hand, he quit after another move to Wr. Sports club started his career in 1998.

As a trainer

During his active time, Leitert studied sports science at the University of Vienna and was a sponsor in 1999.

From February 2000 to October 2005, Leitert was the goalkeeper coach of the Austrian U21 national team. During this period, he was also employed as a coach educator for the ÖFB and UEFA.

In November 2005 he moved to the Greek top club Panathinaikos FC , where he worked as a goalkeeper coach until 2007. During this time he worked in the supervisory staff of the Italian Alberto Malesani , then in the coaching team of the Swedish coach Hans Backe and most recently worked with the Spaniard Víctor Muñoz .

He also worked with Munoz in the following season at the Spanish first division club Real Club Recreativo de Huelva , where they managed to stay in the Primera Division.

In the summer of 2008, Leitert moved to England to join Juande Ramos' support team at Tottenham Hotspur . Shortly after the dismissal of Juande Ramos and the installation of Harry Redknapp as head coach of the Spurs, Leitert also left the traditional English club.

From July 2010 to December 2015, Leitert worked at Red Bull Global Soccer, where he was responsible for the goalkeeping department of all Red Bull soccer locations FC Red Bull Salzburg , RB Leipzig , New York Red Bulls and Red Bull Brasil (until 2013 also Red Bull Ghana) .

As a businessman

In January 2016 he founded Hans Leitert Sports Consulting Limited in London, UK, and has since worked as a consultant for international clubs, numerous associations and high-ranking institutions.

Publications

In 2007 his book The Art of Goalkeeping Game or the Seven Principles of Masters was published . In 2008 the book was published in English as The Art Of Goalkeeping Or The Seven Principles of the Masters . A Greek version of the book was also published in 2008.
