He was related to Hans Nottelmann the Elder .
Famous works
- In 1605 Hans Nottelmann created new window frames on the old town hall of Hanover . During the restoration of the Old Town Hall by Conrad Wilhelm Hase from 1877 to 1882, the sandstone cladding was removed again and then integrated into the house built in 1883/84, including the window posts at Hinüberstrasse 20 . The components of the listed building are "one of the few original remains of the elaborate Hanoverian renaissance buildings that survived the Second World War in connection with the narrow historical renaissance imitation of the house ". The components were expanded in 1877 by an employee of Max Kolde , who built the house in pure Weser Renaissance forms .
- In 1610 Hans Nottelmann created a city coat of arms held by two lions , which is also integrated in the house at Hinüberstrasse 20 .
- The monument conservator Arnold Nöldeke wrote in his inventory published in 1932 Die Kunstdenkmäler der Stadt Hannover , the sculptor Hans Nottelmann had made the inscription panel of the former click mill in Hannover in 1615 . After the air raids on Hanover in World War II , another "review of the relevant archives [...] remained without result".
Honors
The Nottelmannplatz planned in 1934 north of the Nottelmannufer in Hanover-Bothfeld honored one of the two sculptors with its name. The place was abolished in 1956.
