Hans Peter Kammerer (born April 2, 1965 in Bruneck ) is an Italian - Austrian opera singer ( baritone ).

Life

Kammerer was born as the son of South Tyrolean business people in Mühlbach at the entrance to the Pustertal , where he grew up and began his musical career at the age of five with the recorder . Motivated by the recognition of the nun who taught him, he began three years later with lessons on the horn , which he later mastered almost perfectly and with which he played in several smaller and larger ensembles about ten years later. He also appeared as a solo soprano in the Vinzentiner Boys Choir and took piano lessons.

After graduating from high school, he studied at the Max Reinhardt Seminar and at the Vienna University of Music with Walter Berry, among others, and received his first engagements at the Vienna Chamber Opera and the Bregenz Festival . Further appearances have taken him to the Berlin State Opera , the Brussels Opera House La Monnaie / De Munt , the Salzburg Whitsun Festival , the Festival Mozart in Schönbrunn , the Opéra Bastille and the Stuttgart State Theater , the opera houses in Geneva , Barcelona and Lyon as well as from 1994 to the Volksoper Vienna .

Since his debut on January 5, 1995 as Dancaïro in the opera Carmen at the Vienna State Opera , Kammerer has been a member of the house's ensemble, where he has since sung in more than 500 performances.

Their son Felix Kammerer, born in 1995, comes from the marriage of Hans Peter Kammerer with the mezzo-soprano Angelika Kirchschlager , from whom he lives separately .
